That was my thought, too. Star Trek always tended to be more cerebral and not go so over the top with the action. Still, it was entertaining, and the action sequences were pretty well integrated into the story, rather than just being an excuse to throw a bunch of CGI on the screen.

I saw it in non-IMAX 3D, only because the only showings we could make were 3D. It wasn't terrible, but I would have just watched it in 2D if I could have.

I disagree on the acting. I think the casting is brilliant for the most part. Everyone nails their characters, without devolving into doing impressions or parody. The only weak link for me is Uhura. Zoe Saldana is cute and all, but she's no Nichelle Nichols.
