I swear I didn't even know that any of those things were in any way significant. > The image and text were carefully chosen. They represent a caricature of a negative > racial stereotype. It's a little racist in my opinion. And embarassing. But that's > just my opinion.
Maybe it's a "racial stereotype" but what's negative about it? She's there, she exists and she'd say the same thing to your face. I don't see anything demeaning. You decided that it's negative. "negative" is when someone calls it racist. > Perhaps someone should make an image of a white guy in blackface saying "Gee missuh, > I ain't seen no emuchats 'round here." It wouldn't be racist either, I suppose, > because if it's funny, it can't be racist. Or something.
I must be immune to these things, I don't understand. I suppose nearly anything could be construed as racist if you're wearing the right glasses. "white guy in blackface", I don't know. Joni Mitchell is "in blackface" (and dressed as a man) on the cover of one of her 70's albums, I'm sure she's not a racist or a transvestite.
Either way, like the lady said, this is a waste of time. I'm glad I don't see racism everywhere, neither literally nor figuratively. S
