Disabling vsync means that scrolling doesn't look well anymore.
But however, it's not about lagging per se. The thing that confuses me: It seems that the same game on the same MAME version with the same options lags more in Direct3D than in DirectDraw. Is that really the case and if yes, why is it like that?
By the way, did anybody ever make some tests about lagging in MAME? Checking how many frames MAME needs to respond on a monitor set to 60Hz according to various options: Vsync enabled/disabled. Double buffering enabled/disabled. DirectDraw/Direct3D. Game that runs on - 60.0 Hz (like "Vs. Super Mario Bros.") - 59.x Hz (like "Street Fighter II") - 60.x Hz (like "Pac-Man")
