Some people prefer to use the command line version of MAME along with a frontend such as Emuloader, etc. Remember, if you ever decide to report any bugs, you must use the latest version of the command line version of MAME. Whatever version you decide to use, make sure you use the 64-bit version for a nice speed gain.
