Yep. Boards with limited overclocking options will typically overclock your memory as you try to increase the CPU speed, and only give you limited (or no) way to divide the memory clock back down. So you have to start with memory that will handle higher speeds. Also, depending on which memory speeds are programmed into your memory modules (SPD), you may need to manually set the memory specs if the board allows.
