Not sure you guys ever saw this (can't find it after a quick search) but I'll post it.
dox/Tomasz Slanina of MAMEDEV went to Revision 2012 in Saarbrücken, Germany this year (April 6th through April 9th, 2012)
Revision 2012 is a demoparty where people get together primarily to work on and display new demos (think "interactive music videos") in a competition for various consoles, handhelds and computers. (Think "competition/rave/convention all at the same time")
As the website says:
Quote: Revision is a relatively new demoparty in Saarbrücken, the state capital of Saarland, located in southwest Germany. The first edition in 2011 was an overwhelming success, thus you can look forward to experience another and hopefully even better party in 2012 again.
As an event from and for the demoscene Revision will focus on the core elements of any demoparty: multiplatform competitions, socializing and partying, seminars and of course the unique Revision atmosphere created by us and YOU!
dox was there to participate and enter his demo "Cenotaph" on behalf of his team "dcs (Dual Crew & Shining)", for the GameBoy Color. http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=59139
It took 4th place in the oldskool demo competition.

However, he also gave a brief 4-8 minute presentation on MAME while he was there entitled: "15 Years of MAME"
Quote: Labour of love or chore? The truth behind the development of Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator. What has been done and where are things headed? A look at the core design, past, present, and future of the MAME project
Enjoy! (17:27 to 31:30)
------------
For those who care, you should know - following the demoparty, dox wrote this on his blog:
Quote: Revision, revision ... and after the revision.
Ended a stage of life - closed chapters related to demoscene and emulation. Lack of time and changing priorities in life have forced such a "drastic" move.
