MAMEWorld Forums - EmuChat - Gorf "Insert Coin"

Hi,

I'm new to this forum, in fact I just signed up to ask you this one question:

Does anyone know how I can make the Gorf game work properly on MameUI 0.143u6?

All my ROMs and samples are up to date and correct for this version of MAME, in fact I am delighted with my MAME game collection.

But the whole reason I became interested in MAME so many years ago was so that I could play Gorf. And it's the only game not working properly!

When I play it, everything else works perfectly - all the sounds, speech samples etc. But it does not say "Insert Coin" while I am waiting to play it. All the other sounds play, but not those two special words.

If I go into the Gorf.zip samples I can see and hear that Insert.wav and Coin.wav are present.

I have the same problem with all the versions of the Gorf game on MAME.

So why won't the game say "Insert Coin"? Huh?
