See, I'd say a residential neighborhood if you can find a spot. If you're legally parked and your registration/inspection is current, there's nothing anyone can do. 30 hours isn't remotely long enough for the car to be considered abandoned. Maybe check out the municipal website (if they have one), though, just to make sure they don't have any BS ordinances like "no overnight parking unless otherwise marked" or something like that.

You can probably get away with parking at Wal-Mart. If it's a busy enough one, no one may notice. If it's in more of a suburban or rural areas, no one may care. I'd say you're still taking a little bit of a chance, though. I suspect the stories about Wal-Mart being friendly to people camping out in their lots are either myth or a leftover from the days before Wal-Mart became a mega-corporation.

I'd agree that a motel is probably the worst choice. Chances are pretty high that you'll be towed within hours.
