Assign Lightgun to Gun1

Hi all, i did post in another forum, but maybe here its a better place.

i have an EMS topgun 2

its plugged in and working.

i was assigning some buttons to it via mame osd.

everything was fine, the gun was registering as gun1.

but now i went back to it and all the assigned buttons were no longer working.

so i went back to mame osd and saw that the gun was now registering as gun2

i dont have a second gun and want me lightgun to alwasy register as gun1.

how can i do this please?
