... for making a non-recursive make-based build system for MAME. Every time I fire up 'make -j9' in the MAME source tree and enjoy all 8 of my cores (OK 4 real cores and 4 fake cores but whatever) being maxed at 100% CPU and my build finishing in 4 minutes instead of 30, I thank my lucky stars that the MAME developers were smart enough to recognize the value of non-recursive make, and disciplined enough to implement and maintain a non-recursive make system.
The only problem is it only makes the recursive make systems that I have to interact with regularly that much more painful to deal with.
But I'm not complaining!
