Please point me at what file(s) are you looking at and what variables? What data type is used to store that value?
I would expect the range to be -1.0f to 1.0f, although most of the games probably use −128 to 127, or something like that, but in any case, is that range you are talking about passed to all the game drivers or is it converted to something else first?
