Do you think these oldtimers believed the games would regain value down the road or something? 80s games were going for $50-100 at auctions back in the 90s when nobody wanted them, and now they've kinda leveled off at that 300-400 range (fully working, nice condition). Hardly worth the thousands you'd have spent on storage over all those years, I'd say.
