I was re-heating a hamburger patty that I had grilled up yesterday. I heated it while covered by a paper towel, on a painted and glazed ceramic plate, for 2 minutes. I've microwaved on these 1000 times before, and for much longer. Today, as has happened a few times in the past, the burger comes out cold while the plate comes out fiery hot. I'm talking ice cold burger. I'm also talking hot plate to the point that the glaze is boiling. Of course I grabbed the plate bare handed too, and now have glze covered blisters on my fingertips. Why is this? Is the wavelength shifting somehow? The fan was running, so it's not that. The "rotatory thingy" was working too. I just don't get it...
