Bug glitch in Piranha

Hi there,

Using Mame 144u6 and found that you can't go out the top exit in Piranha. I know you can because I remember playing this game in the arcade. It even shows it in the demo going through the top exit.
It just gets stuck when trying.
haven't tried in 145 yet but I imagine it's the same since I haven't seen any other bug reports.
