ImageX does not partition or format drives. You can easily do it from the Windows install / repair disc using DiskPart. Since this is a Microsoft tool, it will get the partitions aligned properly.
Before you do this, you may want to think about eliminating the 100MB SRP. It is a pain in the ass that is not needed unless you use bitlocker (Enterprise or Ultimate users only). Look HERE for more info. Also note the part where instructions are given to restore the F8 repair menu.
Have a look HERE at how to use DiskPart. In this example, it is being used to partition the drive with 2 partitions and format the second partition so the guy could copy his image file to it to restore from. (He had USB problems.) Diskpart would be the same from the Windows disc to prepare your SSD if you want to apply the image with ImageX.
If you want to try this, let me know. I can give more detailed instructions. If it all goes to hell, you can zero out your SSD and start over :-)
