I'm pretty lucky in that regard. For years, my mom was content to leave anything having to do with a computer to my dad. After he passed, she pretty much had to figure it out to be able to function in the modern world, and it turns out she actually has some aptitude for it. She's extremely timid about doing new things, but I usually only have to show her once. I have to drop by periodically to clear up the quirks that show up in every Windows box, but so far she hasn't caused any significant damage.
