Actually, since you just got it, I'm not sure if you are able to jailbreak it just yet anyway...
But one semi-cool gizmo plugs into your headphone jack and changes sound into IR signals (universal remote control... and it has a reciever as well so it can learn remote codes) google iimote for that one. I just picked one up in Hong Kong. Had fun playing with the A/C in my hostel room after learning the remote codes for it :P
Just broke my personal record for number of consecutive days without dying!
