MAMEWorld Forums - The Loony Bin - A foot of snow........... IN OCTOBER?!!!!

This is crazy. Outside there is close to 8 inches of snow on the ground with another 4 inches or so expected by morning. It's not even Halloween yet. To make things worse, while being an idiot on Thursday, I rolled over my right ankle pretty severely. Turns out, I cracked my tibia where it makes up my ankle joint. So I am now on crutches and heavily medicated (that is a nice thing. Oxycodone tablets do a great job of numbing the pain), and there's a crapload of snow coming down. With the leaves still on all the trees, it's only a matter of time before the power goes out. Just hoping that the hurricane that moved through here in August already took out the trees that were likely to fall down on lines. Haven't lost power yet, and there have been some vicious wind gusts moving through, so maybe I'll luck out. Won't be fun trying to climb upstairs if I can't see. May have to just pass out here on the couch instead of risking falling down and breaking my other leg.

Did find out that at work, I made a good friend of mine a lot of money since after all my broken bones last year (broke 7 bones total), my buds jokingly put together an over/under bet on when I'd break my first bone this year. Turns out, a good friend of mine had picked "Halloween Weekend" and came the closest, so he won the $100 prize. lol. Was quite happy when he did me a favor and stopped by with some groceries and supplies like water and sodas and snacks that I was out of and couldn't go shopping for on my own.
