I don't blame the guy for asking. I never heard of Pepsi Man either. I always thought that there would be some kind of QA involved in the Mame Project.
Does it mean that I can develop a rom called Cola Man via some hacked Pengo ROM I found on Craigslist? How would anyone know I modified the rom in the first place? Does the submission of rom documentation rely on a honor system? Does any submittable of a new game require proper written documentation?
Is there any bogus named roms in Mame? How do we know if anyone fiddled with the rom before screen grabbing it? There was a gray area when it came to counterfeit roms back in the day. That Galaxian Kong is a good example.
I agree with the your message could be thought of a thinly veiled attempt of asking for a ROMset, and I am glad the board is being moderated as such.
A more interesting question would be: what is this game and how did it get into Mame? What board did the driver come from, etc.
I took some time out to explore Mame.net and most of the documentation is geared for general submittable work, what development tools are available and the general "how Mame works" section (which I found to be interesting).
I would say that those docs really need to be updated. I appreciate that it is a global contribution schema, but I am sure somebody must have time to review those works.
Maybe add something related to the question raised by the OP in the Mame FAQ.
