Why? You do realize that there are features that simply cannot be provided any other way, or at least not without incredible hacks such as hijacking X window handles and whatnot (and even if you hijack an X window handle, how do you make the output of that X window display in a virtually rendered arcade cabinet "off in the distance"?).
