The Mega GL drivers just don't seem to like Supermodel. Are they also this troublesome when running commercial OpenGL-based games that are more demanding?
I used to be able to run Supermodel on my Linux workstation on campus until the sysadmin arbitrarily decided there would be no more closed source drivers (unless absolutely necessary) and down-graded me to Mesa. It works for the one single legit OpenGL application I use from time to time for my work and I haven't been able to come up with a valid excuse for returning back to the Nvidia drivers.
If I ever need to write a custom graphical application for any reason, you can bet I'm going to make it require GLSL and OpenGL 2.x But hopefully, I won't be around in school for that much longer.
