We may, on the server, want to just stick with the current world, and dig a 1-2 kilometer nether tunnel to new chunks if we want to see new stuff.
At least, until 1.9 (1.8 part 2) comes out. Jeb said it looks like 1.9 will change enough beyond 1.8 that we'll need new areas for THAT, too.
Beta ends in November, so I don't anticipate it going more than a month between 1.8 and 1.9, right?
Also, the "leaked" version is horrifically bug-ridden, and I don't mean the new poisonous cave spiders and silverfish.
