His line of questioning appears to be proceeding under the notion you may be a car thief. Your responses seem a little less than cooperative (no offense, just trying to be impartial here). Especially about the insurance card. When he asked you the name of the company, it was to help gather whether you were the real owner or not. He did not give you the card back right away for this very reason. This guy may have well been a prick, many of them are, but they all work in rotating shifts, rarely get a full night's sleep, are bitched at from all angles, and walk into hazardous situations with little or no vital information to go on. Most officer deaths occur during traffic stops.
