struggles with Mame for windows vista

Please help me out guys...i have downloaded mame32 and with it i downloaded an additional 7 roms so that i can play.
i got my roms from a well renowned site but only 1 of the 7 roms work:(

i have tried downloading a different version of the mame emulator about 3 times but some of those versions dont have a rom folder within so that i may place the roms that i download and hence i have been unsuccesful:(

i am getting so frustrated!!! i just wana play games!!

HELPPPP!!!!!
