If using Taito's 2 Minute Drill as an example, some of the other drivers might be missing the mechanical flag description.
*a Duke Fazeo type opinion moment*
As I see it at this time, the "game mechanical" flag description isn't exactly set yet of what defines what arcade games could be described as mechanical. Maybe the "game mechanical" flag description might need further discussion to set a standard of what games could be considered "mechanical" versus games that are not considered to be "mechanical"?
It gets tricky to define what games could be listed as mechanical imo since there are different types of input methods or games that make extensive use of mechanics of pysical parts that are incorporated into the game play. imo the "mechanical" flag probably hasn't been fully defined or set at this time and needs to be so standards are set for in the future of development in MAME. Some of the games were emulated a long time ago and could be given the "mechanical" description too.
Currently, the "game mechanical" description reminds me of when there was a discussion with MESS of how the softlist concept would be created. That took a while, but once it was finally set, then MESS was on its way of handling software or cartridge swapping.
