MAMEWorld Forums - The Loony Bin - Wii Rock Band guitar

I picked up a used Rock Band guitar and drums set a while ago, mostly so my wife could play Beatles Rock Band. The guitar worked fine for a while, then suddenly quit connecting to the Wii. The blue lights just flash and nothing ever happens.

I'm not much of an electronics guy, but since it was trash anyway, I figured I'd open it up and see if anything obvious was wrong. What I found is in the attached pic. (Sorry for the crappy image, I'm a lousy photographer).

The blue board is apparently the wireless board. The big silver part in the middle of the pic appears to have failed. You can kind of see it in the pic, there's crud all around the blob of solder, right near the ROHS marking.

So the question is, what is the silver thing and is it something I can replace? The markings on top are: 18.000J
