If you aren't trying to run the Step 2.0/2.1 games you can get by with a very modest CPU (a Core i5 will be far, far more than sufficient, especially the Sandy Bridge i5s) as long as your video card is decent (nVidia 7xxx series/AMD 4-series or better).
