Aaron's converting everything into proper class-oriented C++. That's easy to understand even at a high level, and there are a variety of benefits that can be realized from that work.
Also, I'm not threatening anything. But I do strongly recommend anyone who doesn't understand the current MAMEdev dynamic (and that's definitely you) locate H*z*'s essay "High Expectations of a Threadbare Team". I don't agree with 100% of what he says, but he hits all the major points.
