Conspiracy theories
11/26/10 03:43 PM

Conspiracy theories are often popular due to the conspiracy factor they involve, however what people would need to realize is the theory factor, as they are just theories, as their name implies, and thus they haven't been proven. Over the years, many conspiracy theories which couldn't be turned down by arguements and arguments were turned down with facts. So you can have a solid conspiracy theory which is nothing but a balloon full of hot air. Big, but nothing solid. This doesn't mean any deterrent for conspiracy theorists to keep believing in any given theory in any given moment. There, conspiracy theories and religion become indistinguishable, as keeping believing in those theories is more an act of faith than a consequence of intelligence.

So sometimes I feel pity (and sorry for that, there's no other way I can say it) for the lunar landing conspiracy theorists. With all their reasonings about shadows in the picture, a hanging piece of fabric, dust in/on/around footsteps, proofs about that such technology couldn't have existed back in the day, etc. They keep believing that it was all a conspiracy and it never happened, and choose to reject all the facts that prove otherwise.

Occam's razor, although being a difficult instrument to use, can come to some help. It is easier to believe that they landed on the moon than to believe that they didn't but they made some kind of awkward imposture to make everyone believe that they did. I do believe they landed on the moon, they put a man on the moon, man on the moon.

Because you all haven't noticed that all of a sudden no one cared to get back up there and fulfill all the ideas and dreams of a permanent human base on the moon, and all the geologists cries about how useful would be to learn more about the moon because it would be like discovering more about how the earth formed 6,000 years ago (sic). They concocted a complex plan to prevent that from happening, including spreading around conspiracy theories about how the lunar landing was a hoax. Instead, I prefer to wonder what did they found up there to prefer that no one thinks about it. There you go, trapped in your own conspiracy theory.

MOON
A damn great movie that you can enjoy more if you add up even more paranoic layers.

Wound up, can't sleep, can't do anything right, little honey / Oh, since I set my eyes on you. / I tell you the truth.
I can't get it right / Get it right / Since I met you...
