The scenario:
Trying to repair Atari AREA 51: SITE 4 arcade game.
Suspect bad disk.
Have acquired a CHD and using CHDMAN.EXE to extract from image to hard disk.
And then... DECOMPRESSION ERROR
Which I understand to be a mismatch of sorts between the version of the program and the checksums or contents it expects of the file.
So on a longshot, I've downloaded multiple versions of the executable with similar results, the only difference being which chunk it finally bombs out on (which is always the same, depending on version run).
So the question, I suppose, is how do I know which raw disk file goes with which chdman.exe or is there a way to patch it up?
I'm very appreciative of any help, as this will bring a nice machine back to life.
