Well, I remember when there weren't Norton Utilities around me. I started with Seattle DOS 3.1 IIRC. I once commented it here and there were people who said they started with even an earlier DOS version. Not to talk about all the dudes who started with the first Spectrums or MSXs or CPCs before the PC became a bit popular. Gregf will know since 1) he saves all the interesting threads either in his hard disk or in his magical mario head, and 2) he was there when Babbage was designing the first programmable computer.
(Gregf usually remembers that time with sadness because he couldn't obtain a copy of the schems. So don't remember him about it )
Wound up, can't sleep, can't do anything right, little honey / Oh, since I set my eyes on you. / I tell you the truth. I can't get it right / Get it right / Since I met you...
