Problem reading filenames on DVDs burnt under Linux
10/24/10 02:09 PM

I've spent about 3 years with Linux, but I lost my Linux partition and due to lazyness nowadays I am back with Windows XP. During these three years I've burned dozens of DVDs under Linux, with K3B, with the option "Linux+Windows" for the filename system. However, when accessing now these DVDs under XP, the filenames are all basic ISO filenames, all uppercase, spaces replaced with underscores, 16 characters long with automatic numbering when the first 16 chars are repeated.

My question is: can I read a DVD under XP with the original filenames (which are there, since they appear correctly under Ubuntu)? I would hate to reinstall Linux just because there are 20 DVDs I want to copy which I need with the original filenames.

Wound up, can't sleep, can't do anything right, little honey / Oh, since I set my eyes on you. / I tell you the truth.
I can't get it right / Get it right / Since I met you...
