Hi people.
I've been collecting data during half and a month, and now I have to start programming the little code to transform all that data into a site in html (not php, it would be too slow I think).
I'll take a bit to get off the rust of my php, as I only use it twice each year. The problem is that I need certain javascript, which I never learned properly, and I barely used it in the last ten years. So if anyone here proficient with simple javascript can show me some examples of stuff, I'll be happy and it would be very helpful.
There are two kinds of pages, ok? The "main" pages, and the "data" pages. The main pages are tables with lots of links to data. The data pages are usually small and I want to offer the user the choice to make them appear in small popups or in new tabs.
So, every main page will have a checkbox or an option box with "show in popups or not", which will be saved in a cookie everytime it changes. Every time a main page loads, reads that cookie, so when you click in a link for a data page, sends the addy and desired window size to a function, which then either opens the tap, or pop ups a window of that size with that page.
Then, how do you close a popup with an image, and make that image appear when the cookie is set as "open in popups" but not when it is set as "open in tabs"?
And I think that my last question might be tricky. In a main page, you open a popup. From that popup, how do you open a new tab in the same window where the main page opened the popup?
Urhm, I think in the end that's much, but basically that's all the javascript I need, and after collecting the data I really don't want to learn anything new. If any of you can help me with some or all of this with some demo code, I'll be very grateful. Thanks in advance.
