"Countless revisions" might be something that comes to mind when you think about Capcom fighters from the 1990s but not so much for something like the classic shooter Raiden. But that is the reality of the situation. I've lost more auctions for undumped Raiden revisions than I have won. The day I won this one I lost another one. I've just happened across them before while picking one up for a friend and in bulk deals. If you have one there is a good chance it's an undumped version. People don't expect them to be different so they don't check, and there was a pretty subtle way of labeling them.
Here are a couple of examples of alt sets. In the first they sloppily stamped a J on one chip that most people might not even notice and then took a red pen and dotted a couple of them and on the second they stamped an A on 2 chips.
Those stamped/marked are not the only chips that differ from other sets though, it's just that they are the only ones marked, so if you have a Raiden board you'll need to dump all of the socketed chips to check, not just the "obvious" ones. But anyway, we got a new version of Raiden:
