pfeMAME version 2.18 has been released today
10/02/21 02:05 AM

Another big release today (Sorry it’s taken a while). Quite a number of bug fixes, code improvements and some rather obvious graphical changes. Some notable details below, otherwise please check out the changelog file as the list of updates is quite long. Please note that this release is kind of interim – I need to get it out just for the bug fixes alone but some graphical items are just not right yet.
  • Updated font sizes for consistency
  • Improved the coverage of color preferences and added a kind-of dark mode that you can try out. Still a bit of a work in progress and not too happy with it yet.
  • Changed the toolbar icons – still need a LOT of work and not working right under Linux yat.
  • Removed the scrolling games list from TileView (was pointless anyway) – have added Rom info view instead which makes more sense. Also added a new ‘Menu’ window option in Tileview. Doesn’t do anything yet but look out for the next release.

You can download this release from HERE.

Please read the manual as it has everything you need. Please report bugs. You can email [email protected] or use the features on the sourceforge site to create a ticket, leave a review, or chat.

pfeMAME is a front end for the Multiple Arcade Game Emulator (MAME) written in Python. It is cross platform (tested on Linux - Ubuntu and Windows). It also includes a graphical Tile View designed for MAME cabinets which allows control using joystick / gamepad. It supports favourite game flagging, MESS systems, per-rom input mapping, and a Tiled view for arcade cabinets. It was written with a minimalist view in mind but also because there were some features that I wanted that other front ends just didn't provide.
