Mame - Menu - browsing games with gamepad

Hi,

I try to configure mame64 to use only a gamepad.
I have only one problem. When I want to switch games, I can navigate via the menu of mame to other games. But my list of games is longer than the menu can show, and I don't succeed to navigate to other (not-visible) game-entries using the gamepad.
The list of games in the menu changes only when i start typing a letter on the keyboard.
But I want to "scroll" through the list with the gamepad, so my kids can play on the tv using only the gamepad.

Anyone knows what I'm doing wrong? I tried to bind several buttons in the config menu, but none of them seem to do what I'm looking for.
