Gamma didn't used to have an effect on vector games. Now it does. I messed around with what you suggested. It does provide a sort of scanlined effect, which is more accurate in that way, but reduces the candy-like translucency, which I think is a more important display element.
For those who want to try this out, the parametre I think is in vector-mono, though I would guess this affects all vectors games.
