Now that is silly. The file I linked to is 100kb TOTAL. Let's compare that to processing and I/O for other front-end items such as the .dat files (mameinfo.dat ~14mb), history.dat ~23mb). Front-Ends already need to deal with a very large MAME XML file (nearly 180mb!!). The extra second or two of processing/compare/filtering an existing list is frankly nothing in the grand scheme of things.
