Ketsui scoreboard
08/19/22 04:34 AM

The scoreboard in Ketsui appears to have 10 digits. Why is this?
From what I am able to google, the world record high score on this game appears to be 599,790,551. This isn't even all that close to reaching 10 digits.

What is the highest score theoretically possible with perfect play? (By which I mean, imagine if a 24th-century android were playing the game: what would the android's high score be?) Is this theoretical highest score known even approximately? Is it lower than one billion? Higher?

How do game designers decide how many digits to give the scoreboard, anyway? I find it strange that Guwange and Mars Matrix have humanly-reachable counterstops. I would have thought that the game designers would have done some bullet-counting and number-crunching, not just playtesting.
