With the sblaster_16 emulation enabled the performance often dips below 100% due to how demanding it is. If I switch to gus then it appears to degrade further.
Adlib doesn't have such a large impact and I can get 100% but that does not allow for anything other than music playback in most cases.
What are the current recommended settings for playing games on the ct486 (for example, Doom or Heretic)?
Is there a good way to configure the autoexec.bat and config.sys files for more optimal performance?
I'm running MAME on a fairly decent CPU (i9-9980HK) so I reckon I must be doing something daft.
