MAMEWorld Forums - EmuChat - Can't get MAME to run on Windows 7 Machine..

Edit: Okay, I'm a complete fucking idiot. I forgot to install the DirectX End User Runtime components. Hence why MAME crashed. All fixed now. Of course, now that I'm on a better system, I need to re-adjust all my HLSL setting. Ah well. Just happy I got this fixed.

This is odd. Last year, I had built a desktop for an in-progress cabinet using Windows 7 64-bit and had no issues when I simply copied my MAME150 directory over to the computer from my Vista 64-bit laptop.

I just got a new laptop that has Windows 7.1 Professional 64-bit on it. The CPU is an Intel i7-4790 and it's using a Geforce 980M video card.

When I start MAME, it locks up and shuts down immediately with no error messages.

I'm just wondering if there's some setup process that I've forgotten to do, or what could possibly be going wrong. Let me know if there are any specific setup parameters needed to help troubleshoot.

DirectX Version: 11
Vid Card Drivers: 9.18.13.5012

Not sure what the problem could be. In an unrelated problem, I can't access these forums in Google Chrome. I remember this happened before on my old computer but I forgot the process for fixing it. Anyone know how to view the forums in Google Chrome?
