So, again, you are saying that an option to Mirror a game, just as it was in the actual mirrored cabinets... is something that is beyond the capability of a dev?
Or is it simply that you dont like the naming changes suggested?
Because what is seems to me, is that people who are not qualified at making drivers, are at very least interested in developing mames other neglected areas.. and have a hard time with things like poor naming, poor structure, hard to understand / poorly documented things, missing features, and other issues.
Devs like H*** dont give too ratts tails if a game plays at all, let alone any real consistency of accuracy. If the project were in his hands alone, there wouldnt even be any donations given to buying pcbs... merely because hes a self centered D***.
While we must give props to him and all devs... just remember that you guys wouldnt have much to work on at all, had it not been for:
1) The original Arcade developers works 2) The donations of PCBs, Funds for new PCBs, rom dumps, artwork buys/scans, Critical helpful information, and much much more.
Its called Give and Take. Being reasonable to the desires of others, especially those who are helpful, rather than pure self interest.
Things left to emulate are getting more rare and expensive.. let alone all the stuff that is passing away to bit-rot and or getting tossed out. You would be careful to consider that when Devs decide they dont want to allow features that Donators want... that donators may just dry up... and at the most critical point in time when they are needed.
The goal SHOULD be about preserving in ENTIRETY. Not about preserving what one person thinks is valuable... and leaving the rest to rot, and get lost forever.
