Even if a game, in terms of playability and addictiveness, isn't up there with "Raiden" that's OK. A secondary objective of mine (to stay in the jargon) is to just learn about other (old-school arcade) schmups. "Unfortunately" "Raiden" is pretty unique in that it occupies a sweet spot in being difficult but not impossible and, as I think I already mentioned, has both a qualitative and quantitative edge which is pretty much undefinable as well as ineffable.
I played "Raiden" for the first time at age 12 and appearently I still find it funny at the age of 45. Now some would say this says more about me than the game but of course I will adamantly/vehemently DISagree.
