As organizations and corporations across the world denounce America's inherent racism, so too should the MAME team release an official statement condemning racism and injustice and inequality in America. Furthermore, racist games like Sega's ESWAT (1990) should be removed from MAME. If you are not familiar with the game, players control racist police officers who murder peaceful protesters just trying to have their voices heard.
Similarly, Data East's Robocop (1988) should be removed as well. Just look at these peaceful protesters being gunned down in broad daylight.
MAME is also in the position to fight injustice by altering the way certain racist games are emulated. For example, in Boxing for the Atari 2600 (1980), the white boxer is player 1 and the black boxer is player 2, just like how America treats blacks as second class citizens. MAME can reverse this great injustice through emulation by making player 1 black and player 2 white.
Unfortunately, this list of ways MAME can fight racism is far from exhaustive. Please reply if you are aware of any other instances of racism in emulation. Thank you.
