Nope, but have definitely thought about it. A lot.
Tried to get others interested in it, tried to get local uni / uni students interested in it (for 10+ years) - they viewed robot fighting and the destruction of robots as horrible sacrilege, asked around friends / colleagues to see if anyone interested in forming a team (only a few mildly luke warm responses), etc. No luck yet.
So, if I do it, it looks like it will be a team of 1 to start.
Most of the people on the BattleBots show seem to start as a team of 1 - a guy working in his garage on his own. It is only when some success comes, and/or they get on TV, that people flock to join the team.
I'm currently re-watching the 2 most recent seasons of BattleBots (2015 and 2016) again for about the 5th time. The seasons of BB prior to this (from year 2000 on) are all on YouTube.
Can't wait for the next season of BattleBots - Minotaur Vs Toombstone, and rematches of both with Bronco. Ahhhhh, great stuff.
