I rest my indexes over the shoulder buttons. Besides triggers are analog axis. It makes sense you shoot weapons with shoulders because you are firing (or not) a weapon. You are not hovering a plane. My middle finger is long enough to use triggers if the game needs them.
TL;DR Triggers are 2-way analog joysticks, it makes sense shoulder buttons to be used as buttons.
