But seriously, it "works a treat", as they say.
For example, I am reorganizing my My Documents folder right now, sorting out three years' of downloads and notes. I found an abandoned file: glide3.dll. Now, was this from an original 3dfx driver set, or one of the wrappers I have messed around with?
Unfortunately, this DLL was not compiled in a way so that I could view Version Information or a Simple or Advanced Summary in the Properties menu. What to do?
Loading up the DLL in Dependency Walker, I found that it called GrWrapperFullScreenResolutionExt. Definitely from a wrapper, then. But which one?
Google Code Search to the rescue! http://www.google.com/codesearch?q=grwrapperfullscreenresolutionext&btnG=Search+Code
So, it comes from the neighborhood of Glide64. It's probably some version of Hacktarux's OpenGL Glide wrapper.

Awesome, Mr. Krick. I just leeched away for safekeeping.
BTW, are these install executables the ones that need a TNT2 serial number to extract (or something)? I barely remember them doing that - or was it the website that asked for the serial number? I haven't checked yours, however. You could also upload the pre-hacked install packages. If you don't have them, you could always figure out how to hack it, I know you're resourceful.
On my oldest PC, I have a few of these install packages and may have one you're missing. If not, it may be worth looking into who might still have other versions at Creative. (No one?)
One of these days I intend to have a no-holds-barred Glide wrapper competition, and have an archive of all known wrappers, as well as wrapper source. I wasn't a project maintainer for OpenGlide for nothing. http://www.sf.net/projects/openglide
You can always distract me with 3dfx stuffz... See, here's a hat I have, well one exactly like mine, as proof:
That guy's website is totally awesome! http://www.thedodgegarage.com/3dfx/

PCI slots should be completely gone from new PCs in the next 6-9 months and then we won't have to hear about 3dfx anymore :-)

So no more Sound Blaster cards? No more non USB modems? Everything has to be hooked up via USB? No PCI-e?
Interesting?

No, he meant to say that PCI slots will be gone, but PCI-e (PCI Express) slots will remain. I think. :-) So, yes, there will be add-in cards, but only in the form of PCI-e.
