$1550 for Tangram Q SNK 1983
#399358 - 10/18/24 08:43 AM

We can get Tangram Q for $1550 USD if anyone wants to fund it. Just interested in pledges at this point and the money won't be sent through me.

It is a puzzle game from SNK in 1983.

system11 was able to get it if you pledged I will send you a message with his PayPal. If you want to pledge let me know. Currently system11 is doing most of the payment if anyone wants to lighten his load.

On the way to help lighten the load as $ 50.00 pledged earlier.

I am in for $ 50.00 myself…still on its way.

Very impressed with quick work of getting the game in working order by hap thanks to contributors along the way.

On to other early SNK coinop video games, a comment from ozzyguy100 , a very knowledgeable contributor, on YouTube messages.

there's even other early SNK games out there that aren't dumped yet, like; Melody Invaders (a version of Sanritsu's Space War), Yosaku ⁅developed by Orca⁆, Atom Smasher ⁅developed by Logitec⁆, & Mahjong Kyoshitsu.

interestingly, there's a bootleg of Micon Kit/Micon Block from Hoei Sangyo/Yachiyo Denki; http://nagoya-milky.sakura.ne.jp/hp/sr0812b.jpg (this is also undumped).

Tangram Q (SNK 1983 ) mention and screen snaps on Haze wip page new [Re: Smitdogg]
#399558 - 11/15/24 07:01 AM

Haze's MAME WIP home page https://mamedev.emulab.it/haze/

2024 – A Year with No Expectations page https://mamedev.emulab.it/haze/2024-a-year-with-no-expectations/

Recent added entries amongst the 2024 entries for the year.

Emulation improvements allowed another Playstation based hardware game to become playable in 2024. Namco’s Kart Duel….

In terms of the rarest thing to be emulated in 2024 SNK’s Tangram Q must be a contender…This one was mentioned in the media that came with the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection from Digital Eclipse, but was still considered a lost game at that time.

Good to know that over recent years since SNK Collection pack had been released along with some SNK games tweeted by Frank Cifaldi from a few years earlier are now preserved and emulated.

Micon Kit Part II: Uchuu Senkan Yamato (1978) - SNK

Micon Kit Part III: Space Micon Kit (1979) - SNK

Hopefully following entries might surface later.

If Digital Eclipse does another tribute package, may there be a chance that more will be supported by that time.

I would love to see Yosaku finally emulated. I think that's one of the remaining few left to emulate from SNK.

Alongside Atom Smasher, New Space Wars (Galaxy Wars), and SNK Moon Cresta.

I have an SNK Moon Cresta board, so I'll dump that. It's nothing special, but it's another one off the list.

That is a pretty big deal in itself since that is a licensed version that few outside of Japan / Asian markets would have known. Definitely come in handy for rom preservation in case repair work such as rom replacements are needed.

Super Tank (SNK licensed) would also be a good find. I didn’t know SNK licensed that game. And hopefully SNK Micon Block can be found and emulated since that was supposedly SNK first coinop video game.
