#398248 - 04/01/24 01:19 PM

Finding flyers from the Eighties isn't over yet.

Advertising and Promotions That Put You Ahead of the Game (1981-1982) - Williams Electronics [Shows Make Trax, Moon Patrol, Robotron: 2084 and Stargate]
Astro Fantasia / Nebula / Manhattan / Terranean (1980-1981) - Data East [4 Page Flyer]
Black-Jack Vengt Et Un (1981) - Omega Products
Boggy '83 (1983) - Kaneko
Do! Run Run (1984) - Universal [Alternate flyer. Compare the flyers]
Keno (1981) - Omega Products
Nudge Bingo (1982) - Omega Products
Open New Markets In Outer Space (1980-1981) - All Weather Amusements [Shows Kickman and Ms. Pac-Man]
Pixels (1982) - Omega Products
Super Star (1981) - Artic Electronics [Shows Moon Alien]
Superquiz (1983) - Syzygy Game Company
Winners Circle (1981) - Omega Products

Omega Products = Cal Omega.

~ Enjoy

Dang. This particular update is damn-tastic.

> Boggy '83 (1983) - Kaneko

This flyer solidifies everything about the game and its exact year etc. All Bobby Tribble has to do is remove all the old text from the entry and link directly to the flyer on Flyer Fever site.

-
Boggy '83 (Kaneko, 83)

https://unmamed.mameworld.info/non_kaneko.html#Boggy83

-

The various Cal Omega flyers and the Data East Deco cassette flyers are bonus materials.

Off topic:

Almost as good as Pitt Pirates four game series sweep on the road in Miami over the weekend although Miami did have a few top players on their team missing because those players were on disabled list at the time…. so Miami did have credible excuses.

N. American region industry magazine PlayMeter is best bet for the info new [Re: Alexis B.]

The monthly issue of PlayMeter is best case for industry marketing news and might that company rebranding name info maybe in back section of a PlayMeter magazine. And many of those should already be online somewhere.

Someone had mentioned there used to be a weekly issue release of a different coinop newsletter that was published during 1980s era, but unsure if any ever existed. There did used to be a weekly computer news publication that was subscribed by businesses and schools in N. America region. That I can see why since that is a larger market compared to coinop journals.

> I was thinking dam! i've never heard of Boggy ’83 is there videos of it & does it exist?

It happens to be the real, original version unlike what is already supported which are either hacks or bootlegs.

https://github.com/mamedev/mame/blob/bda...tfred.cpp#L1081

GAME( 1983, boggy84, 0, jumpcoas, boggy84, fastfred_state, init_boggy84, ROT90, "Kaneko", "Boggy '84", MACHINE_SUPPORTS_SAVE )

The issue has been whether it was Boggy 83 or Boggy 84. With Dan getting an actual flyer for the game, Boggy 83 is the real deal and what needs to be found. If a real Boggy 83 pcb is found and ROMS dumped, then the already supported ROM sets will be shuffled around accordingly.

> If so is it hoarded away?

Maybe, but more likely scenario is a pcb of the game probably waiting to be found at some coinop vendor warehouse storage facility looking to discovered.

It’s just like tv show MASH 4077th McLean Stevenson’s tv character Lt. Col Henry Blake says about missing patients: “We lose them all the time, but we eventually get them back. “

Same thing can be applied to pcb with Kaneko Boggy 83 in case a pcb can be found later.
