MAMEWorld Forums - EmuChat - MAME 0.262 / Dragon's Lair audio and BT headphone audio issue / Thayer's Quest

This isn't a complaint thread - just curious about some oddities with the new version of MAME (as downloaded from mamedev.org for Windows x64).

First question:

I haven't had this issue with MAME or any other emulator before, but I stream a lot of podcast-type YouTube videos while I'm gaming (so I can still hear the music/SFX from the game, but the YT video is just someone talking).

However, when doing this while running Dragon's Lair, the YT audio is extremely distorted/choppy coming from Firefox.

So this may not be a MAME issue, but it's something that MAME's Dragon's Lair implementation is causing and it's making me curious as to the cause.

I can run other LD games like Cube Quest while watching a YT video and the audio is fine. But there's something about Dragon's Lair that causes audio issues with my BT headset for audio outside of MAME. However, the Dragon's Lair audio seems fine.

Second question:

Anyone else having issues with tab and the various function keys just not working with either Thayer's Quest sets? The game seems to run, but it's unresponsive to keyboard commands as is MAME's UI.

Again, I don't have any other MAME issues like this and there are no miscellaneous *.ini or *.cfg files that I can immediately identify as causing issues, so I was wondering if it was just me or not.
